I think there's some truth to what you're saying, but ... I don't know, it's a very very VERY simplified narrative. "The choice was made" - by whom? What was the lie? Flatten the curve WAS/IS a good idea, but ...there was no consistent implementation of that.

we're largely in agreement, but the problem I have w your tweets is that I see there being multiple overlapping sets of people, some who said X, some who said Y, some who said BOTH ... and your tweets talk about an amorphous "they", or use the passive voice, so I'm unclear on who
