How long does it take a hospital to add emergency capacity? And if it is shorter than the amount of time lockdowns have been in effect, why is it my responsibility to continue sacrificing to cover for their failure to do so?

Part of the reason hospitals got so overwhelmed early on is that they were over-prescribing induced coma/ventilator usage. Once they realized this was doing more harm than good, they scaled it back.
