3/ By analogy to "a liberal arts education trains you how to think" (N.B. no, it doesn't), I aim to teach people how to be learn things on their own, and to be critical readers of things. Part of this is giving negative (i.e. useful) feedback. "Google it" ** IS ** important.

There are bots that were written on a lot of social media platforms to provide people answers to frequently asked questions. They're almost universally despised. This says to me that people asking common questions don't want your answer. They want your attention.

I've moderated forums and a moderate sized subreddit. I already knew that most people are just attention seekers by the butthurt complaints the mods get to in response to removal of posts when a simple search (or often just reading the pinned FAQ) would have served them well.
