Aren't they made in China? Is this a world wide phenomenon?

Could also still be supply lag. During the first Grocery Wars this spring my local market got picked clean of jars and lids and only recently got restocked.

Possibly some of that, but supply lines were likely harmed in the spring and won’t catch back up.

It’s bloody annoying isn’t it! Same over here in Europe. In fact last winter we even had a shortage of glass when one of the main factories closed down for a couple of months. Everywhere sold out.

Back in July when I was doing pickles the stores were already sold out. I have been watching ever since and occasionaly they have the decorative jars with lids but I have yet to see lids only.

I'd say both also. But, the same is true for most of the wood we sell at HD. 4x4x8 treated posts have doubled in price over the summer. Does not appear we are selling more of them.

I was gonna say, estate sales and maybe garage sales are the best bet.
