Strangely, I *feel* like I WAS taught this basic format in Law School at some point, but can't remember if it was laid out so formally. When writing, you're told to put your strongest argument 1st, then in descending order of weakness. As noted, 'strongest' is relative...

...to the category of argument you're making. And then it relates to how you approach research. If you can find cases that are on point that show EVEN IF all opponent's arguments are true, they still lose, you develop that point extensively. Otherwise, you point out bad logic.

w IDENTICAL fact patterns. And also neighbor opened his big trap in court and gave me evidence that he can't legitimately get a variance. So my variance rebuttal argument is WWF cage-fight levels of brutal. I really really hope things go the right path so I get to deliver it

Its like one of those movie scenes where one combatant unleashes their strongest attack and the opponent no-sells it and proceeds to demolish them in a flurry of blows. Fight was over the second it started, you're just delivering the news.
