Atheism assumes our modern conception of human rights would arrive naturally while living in a world shaped by Judeo-Christian ethics for the last two thousand years. In the natural world, might makes right. There is no mechanism for development of human rights.

They always talk about how cooperation leads to ethics. That works great within small societies but humans are naturally tribal. Rights within the in-group are not granted to those outside of it. Rape was usually forbidden within the tribe but permitted outside, for example.
