I dont understand the vulcanism point. There's no way to give Mars an iron core that's going to create its own magnetic field.

so you have backups I dunno, man we can achieve 5 or 10 "nines" of uptime, with backups, etc. far easier than we can melt a planet down and then wait 10 million years for the lava to cool not sure what else to say
