I dont understand the vulcanism point. There's no way to give Mars an iron core that's going to create its own magnetic field.

ah, ok, well, we can't hit it THAT fast because we'll just splash it across the entire solar system we can hit it more slowly but the amount of heat we'd pump in would take MILLIONS of years to escape ; Mars would be a ball of lava for an insanely long period
