there've been a lot of attempts to launch social networks that place the Overton window in a different place on the L/R axis (gab, parler, etc.) I think we need one that places the window differently on the politics vs no politics window just an entire network that rejects >

3/ I want a social network where the only topics at all are "I read this great book", "look at the bowl I turned at the lathe", "time to plant the garlic", and "here's a new bread baking recipe I'm going to try".

4/ Not entirely unlike Anathem concents, but for content. Maybe with nested circles. Innermost circle is the Thousander network - no political news more recent than 1,020 AD. Outside that, the Century network - you can discuss WWI there, but only the first few years.

5/ I think I'd hang out in the Thousander network. The mods would yell at me from time to time "your discussion of electric powered wood lathes is not TECHNICALLY forbidden by the rules, but ... you know, maybe chill a bit with the modern high tech stuff?"

7/ part of the problem w social media is that compulsion is not the same as happiness is not the same as contentment is not the same as joy I (we ?) click click click at all the horrors, looking for the dopamine payoff. What we are driven to do is not the same as what we like
