3/ looking at murder, rape, robbery and aggravated assault, we get 392,562 per year. Assume unique offenders (untrue, but close enough) so 0.1% of the population. >>> https://ucr.fbi.gov/crime-in-the-u.s/2018/crime-in-the-u.s.-2018/tables/table-43 …

4/ rounding numbers to make the math easy, we see that 0.4% of blacks commit violent crimes, and 0.07% of whites do. so let me correct the orginal galaxy mind: 0.4% do 52%, a different 0.07% do 48%, and 99.53% do 0% I think this is pretty much the same thing as the original.

6/ > Your claim is demonstrably false. Gosh, if only I'd thought ahead to add the caveat " (untrue, but close enough) ". I really wish I'd thought to do that in tweet #3 in this series. Good catch!https://twitter.com/__ice9/status/1312097844837453825 …

ice9 @__ice9Replying to @MorlockPOk. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3969807/ … >A total of 93,642 individuals (3.9 %) had at least one violent conviction. >24,342 persistent violent offenders (1.0 % of the total population) accounted for 63.2 % of all convictions. Your claim is demonstrably false.3 replies 0 retweets 10 likesShow this thread -
Replying to @MorlockP
But "untrue, but close enough" referred specifically to the assumption of unique offenders, not to your initial estimate, which was off by multiple orders of magnitude, according to your own math
