I guess this marks me as old and out of date, but I remember the good old days when couples would just discuss this sort of stuff via email or twitterhttps://twitter.com/amelapay/status/1312058466383597568 …

People publicly airing their laundry for sympathy/tweets/likes is just.... well, it's "something".

it's true that Byrne's career has taken some unforeseen twists but hey so has mine, and he just moved us across the country for the benefit of my mental health and rented us a perfect house and fabulous car so no serious basis for complaint

I don't think either one of us would be talking about this at all in front of like 15-20k people if it were a real problem though maybe some people do that sort of thing

I'm just never going to understand how open your generation is with what preceding generations would view as "family business". Anyways, have a good weekend.

Byrne is in the business of talking about business, doing case studies, explaining stuff. Especially stuff that is online, or embedded in the information economy. It seems 100% obvious that sooner or later he's going to turn the lens on his own sector / his own newsletter.

I'd bet $20 that Byrne isn't going to "air family laundry", but that he is going to explain how the newsletter business model works in general (existed for 50 yrs), how his works in specific, etc. This is obvious and good. My homesteading book talks about my homestead.

I think there's some sort of moral argument you're making, based on an assumption that I think is probably false, that Byrne is going to give screencaps of his check book and balance sheet, etc. sharing personal information. ...and that this is "Bad".

But I read Pamela as having fun w the idea that he's doing a public call. And the underlying data is no more personal than my farm book talking about what the cost of my bacon is, based on price of piglets, feed, and processing. /shrug
