Low population, and no minerals worth mining. That makes freight rail uneconomical. The longest running one was for Reykjavik harbor in the early 20th century, most were temporary.

The obvious. Note that this map doesn't depict Antarctica because that's where the Illuminati is building the most extensive rail network in the world so they can be everywhere and control everything. Duh.

It’s not existence of rail it’s utility. I’ve been in counties that had plenty of rail but low use. I’ve lived near tracks that were always busy. Use of tracks matter more

India has too much rail, the Rocky Mountains are pretty serious... Probably some interesting historical "At what point do you get roads/trucks" contingencies (Alaska) as well.
