They really didn’t make kids movies like that before the 80s. As for their timelessness, I think they last. My daughter loves them.

I *loved* The Three Investigators when I was a kid. I went back to read them as an adult a couple years ago, and they were *horrible*. On the other hand, The Great Brain was still quite good.

never seen goonies but i like bttf, even though its before my time. i saw jurassic park in theaters as a kid and that was pretty swell, if you ask me.

Some of it is childhood related but overall everything in the 80s feels better due to proximity to the 70s; coming out of that, everything is going to feel just a whole lot better...
