/ I'd prefer to smash the state and replace it with nothing but voluntary organizations. HOWEVER, when evaluating the rightness or wrongness of state actions, I ask "in an ancap world..." >>> https://twitter.com/aeranothaur/status/1305958861556404230 …

/ (a) would this role / service / enforcement exist? (b) how much violence would be necessary / likely / common in doing this thing?

/ I suggest that under ANY governance regime, the roads will be ... managed. There will be people who have permission to use the roads, and people who do not. There will be requirements for safety of vehicles. There will be requirements for safe operation.

/ In my Aristillus novels there is one private road provider mentioned in passing, RMR Inc. (a quiet nod to Heinlein's short story "The Roads Must Roll", btw !) In an cap world, not anyone can use RMR roads ... and even paid up subscribers can't weave in and out of traffic.

/ So in an ancap world, the c̵o̵p̵s̵ RMR security guards are driving along, they see someone blow through a stop sign and cut right in front of them (as happened in this case). I can't imagine that RMR guards don't put on their lights and pull him over.

/ "Sir, can I see proof that you're a paid up RMR subscriber?" no "Sir, you're not allowed on these roads unless you're a subscriber ... and if you ARE a subscriber, you violated clause 12 of the agreement with your stunt. Can I see evidence that this car has passed >>>

/ RMR safety checks? As you know, we partner with Jiffy Lube for their 30 point safety check, including Brake Verificattion Service ... oh, btw, here's your $10 coupon for a brake pad change ... anyway, can I see your safety verification?" no

/ "OK, well, (a) without proof that you're a paying customer, we're not letting you drive on this road" no, I'm just going to drive home "not on this road you're not. And (b) without proof that your car has passed inspection, it's getting towed off of our road" no

/ "OK, sir, I need you to walk away from your car right now -" no, I'm going to turn the ignition and drive on your road, and I'm already driving unsafely, as you witnessed with your own eyes, and I may be high, and I'm gonna keep driving "the hell you are"

/ yep, absolutely! QI is absolutely terrible, and I hate it. (and I also think that cops tend to be horrible) I'm just saying that pulling the guy out of the car is absolutely reasonable and would prob occur in most / all governance systemshttps://twitter.com/phoneyman/status/1305962646022230022 …

When I first read this, I read "QI" as "Quantized Inertia". https://twitter.com/memcculloch/status/1305921133682794503?s=20 …
