How so? Do you find that population to representation ratio in any way fair? What's the rational other then it's the way it always been?

It's a good system for the same reason that each country get one seat at the UN.

But your equating a country with a state. Wyoming has less then 600 k people...the fact they get a senator for 1/300 k people comparison to California where it's a 1/19 mill people just doesn't hold up. The only appeal to tradition.

States are states.
Each has separate laws.
They existed before the federal government, and created it.
Is the ratio between California and Wyoming different than that between China and Liechtenstein?
