18/ good question. Unclear, but maybe not! Men did pass the 19th amendment, giving women the vote, and men used to run the publishing industry, but invited women in. From my experience in book publishing, you need to focus on the staff in Editorial, not (e.g.) Marketing, Advertising, Contracts, etc. (The % may well be similar tho.) Also important: Ages. Older = higher-ranking, more influence on what gets picked. (Again may not change %.)
