i think the idea promoting destroying property is that, since the system controls so much and is evil, it wont negotiate/change by asking nicely, and therefore you must make it hurt till it changes out of neccessity kinda like a war negotiation

Basically this, based on the interactions I've had with riot apologists 'We can't get most people actively onboard with our demands, so we're going to hurt them until they join us' Then they're surprised and aghast when people start rising up against them.
