I could make a case that students holding certain opinions means the teacher has failed at teaching critical thinking. Ethnat and communist would both fit.

both of those seem mostly to come down to a set of values bad values, true but it's not a matter of "critical thinking" (which is 95% a fnord that means "leftism")

She probably has the idea that leftism is obviously correct, so that intelligent people naturally gravitate towards it: so if the kid doesn't become leftist, she has failed to make the kid intelligent

To teach WHAT to think not HOW to think. I am proud to hear differing opinions out of others when I have been teaching them even though I am not an educator. So long as those differing opinions don't mean they are going to hurt themselves

Come on, there's a big difference between "not being leftist" and "homosexuals should be killed, Earth is flat". The article is about more extreme positions, not a generic "not leftist"
