I've read at least 20 times his "How to write fantasy and fiction" and it completely shifted the way I read everything. Very sound and practical advices. Also, a lot of references of SF/Fantasy writers.

WRT to your thread about the Hugos, he wrote that one of the first things an aspiring writer should do is do its homework aka Read the Classics of the genre, giving multiple lists of different waves of SF/Fantasy and saying: pick a book of some names in each list and read them.
