15yo dog Ocho just had a stroke, I think. Big asymmetry in left / right gait, and head position.
Taking her to the vet in 90 minutes (earliest opening they have). Maybe she has another year or two on the farm, maybe not.

2/ Ocho seems to be doing pretty well, on the scale of "dogs that have just had strokes or stroke-like incidents". Surfing web pages that discuss meds and care post-stroke. Reasonably good chance that she'll get checked out and be back home, comfy with a treat in 2 hrs.

3/ OMG, very good news. Her symptoms match those of a stroke ... but they match EVEN BETTER idiopathic sudden onset vestibular disease, where an older dog gets dizzy ...for basically no reason. Treatable with meds, and she's already 50% better than she was 2 hrs ago.

My dog had that too. Such good news. Stroke was my first thought too. I had just gone through vestibular issues myself, so I gave mine Dramamine for the dizzies. She was better within a day. Best wishes for a quick recovery!
