Chickens lay 1.5 eggs/day on average. 20 people each eating 2 eggs per day require ~26-30 chickens. We fit about this many, easy, into a 12x12 coop, with access to a 30' x 30' outdoor area. Curious which breed you’re using for meat. We process our Cornish Cross meat birds at 6-8 weeks. Last batch was done at 9 weeks and many were over 8 lbs. But they can’t sustain that growth rate on just scraps and forage; we do 12 on/12 off supplemental meat bird feed.
