i would wager the purple line has trended down from pre-app days too. i met my gf in a bar, but i am the rare exception in my group of friends. it is either through friends or apps that is 90% today

I’m really shocked at how few people met their spouse in college, which is how my husband and I met. I thought this was much more common than it apparently is.

I know quite a few people now that have long term happy relationships that started through either dating apps or just generally online I don't think as of 2020 there's any shame in that anymore
