on the one hand, people saying "yes, cases and hospitalizations are up, but deaths aren't" raise a good point on the other hand, non-death-covid-cases are still no walk in the parkhttps://twitter.com/Mariah__Driver/status/1280528250377170944 …

It's been 82 days since I tested positive for COVID-19, and I'm still experiencing symptoms. After 82 days of nausea, fatigue, coughing, and chest pain, I can promise you this: that birthday party, happy hour, or gym class is *not* worth the risk. Also, wear a f*cking mask.

"Some of the time the hammer falls on an empty chamber" isn't a very good justification for playing Russian Roulette. Expanding the wheel to fifty chambers, a few of which might just maim you permanently, doesn't improve my opinion of the game either.

It does. But NYC and France turned into abattoirs because they basically took no precautions at all, and that's good enough for me to put on a mask, stay away from people, and wash my hands. We probably all agree never-ending lockdowns with no exit strategy are tyrannical.

Obesity and related conditions (heat disease, diabetes, etc.) seem to also be a comorbidity risk factor. The fittest states seem to have been hit less hard. Population density obv. plays some role in the differences in these maps.pic.twitter.com/d9mJ0nwqRP

I'm sure it was all the "food deserts" that caused the high obesity rates in that subpop. Salon told me so.

Also, I remember pointing it out to Steve Sailer that despite having the largest airport on the continent, only the ski towns in Colorado got hit particularly hard during the initial outbreak. My working theory is that the health nuts in that state drive down illness prevalence.
