1/ Saying "your statement X is beneath you" is a terrible tactic, at least when aimed at me. I evaluate what my standards are, and do those things that live up to them, and don't do those that don't. If you think that my statement X is beneath me, either >

I respectfully disagree. We're all human. We make mistakes, get hot headed. We don't all live up to our own standards all the time. If someone said I did something that was beneath me, I hope I'd take pause and reevaluate what I had done. Maybe theyre wrong, but not automatically

Valid. I haven retracted things in the past. But usually upon my own reflection, not hectoring.
