I was discussing something like this with an economist friend who had an idea for a reputational currency. Based on the individual's reputation for a variety of metrics; how well they paid their debts, their value perceived value.

Good points; it could encourage good financial behaviour, can't be stolen or misused, security benefits etc Bad points: Could be a Pareto vortex supercharging wealth inequality, central management creates an enormous power silo.
