Psychologically unhealthy but very good for your long-term career prospects if you can be well ahead of your plan and still feel, most of the time, like you're way behind and need to scramble to catch up.

When I launched the paid newsletter, I put together an operating model. For the metrics I track, I'm 3-8 months ahead. But because growth is lumpy, on any given day it looks like I'm way behind and the goals I set are completely unrealistic.
