You need a CDL to pilot a mech, for an exoskeleton your regular class C driver's license is sufficient.

I always thought it was about the arms and legs. Are your real ones in the metal ones controlling them with leg and arm muscles? Exoskeleton. Driving it in a cockpit like compartment? Mech.
