Counterpoint: men more often ask for what they want, including things like "I am being treated unfairly and I want it to stop", whereas women more often put up with bad situations rather than take action - actions such as complaining to those who could do something about it.
-
Men are expected to be guardians and protectors, no one respects a man who allows himself to be treated unjustly, as this reveals he is incapable of protecting others from injustice.

This is something I'm trying to teach my son. That complaining/whining/whatever will not get him what he wants. Ever. He sometimes thinks its unfair, because my daughter does get what she wants. But she's 2, I tell him, and it works less for boys than for girls. Just how it is.
