Strong agree. Most of my favorite SF authors are left of center ( China Mieville, Ken MacLeod, John Barnes, John Varley, etc etc etc), but they can WRITE. So much trash in the right wing SF ghetto - and because these folks eat where they crap, they don't even understand qualityhttps://twitter.com/davereaboi/status/1270717561135456258 …
yeah, Barnes' twitter politics are so tedious and normie disappointing > Do I dare ask your opinion on good conservative leaning authors? don't know of any, sadly

Oh I see what you did there.

....something something false humility
-
oh, it wasn't false humility * I don't think of myself as "conservative leaning" *you already know I write, so saying "me" wouldn't provide any new information

What about Neal Stephenson? He's pretty conservative iirc. I also like Orson Scott Card and he seems fairly conservative.

OSC has a broad range in his writing as well...I wish he'd take up drinking coffee or smoking meth or something and produce a little more. Especially wouldn't mind if he'd send me free copies so I don't have to pay 12 or 15 bucks a piece for them.

I’d recommend Christopher Ruocchio if you’re looking for non-lefty authors that are actually good. He hasn’t written a great deal yet, but his debut series (begins with Empire of Silence) is one of two ongoing series I’m willing to pay release-date prices for.

I just grabbed a free sample on my e-read platform, but he'll need to be good at those prices. As long as we're recommending, one of the only stories I've read that gave a real world epiphany....."Pump Six" by Bacigalupi. (1/2)
