/ Trying to decide what to do. Gah. Pasture is almost 2 acres, so can't irrigate new grass seed w sprinklers. So decent chance that hot summer bakes & kills new grass. OTOH ... get it done?

/ ok, called and left a message. "Nope, not now. Let's talk again late summer / fall". It's tempting to "just get it done", but if I get a pasture full of dead grass / cover mix plus new weeds, I'm in a worse place than if I do nothing.

/ I've got three fenced pastures that I'm doing rotational grazing on. This is one of them. Obviously it will be out of rotation for a few months after seeding. Hmm...good question. Implies 2nd good reason to delay: fall planting doesn't impact sheep https://twitter.com/graywaiter/status/1269984783528050689 …

/ well, I've bought SOME of the equipment. Dropped $2 or 3k on a drag harrow, cultipacker, and cone spreader. not willing to drop $$$ on a bulldozer right now (although I AM shopping for a mini excavator ... maybe a ~ 50 HP kubota) https://twitter.com/madre_duck/status/1269984230982979586 …

/ Goal is to have excavator remove or bury boulder, smooth entire surface of rolling hillside. No need to complicate things with temporary fencing, etc. Just recontour entire field, replant, done. https://twitter.com/graywaiter/status/1269989134854168576 …
