tbh I think a lot of people probably have a somewhat justified idea that the profile text is basically irrelevant and people swipe just based on picture

I absolutely !@#-ing hate the phrase "sapio-sexual", but I've always been more picky than most about looking for a smart woman I could have a relationship with, so I was much more invested in profile text back in the day than average. /shrug

I don't know exactly what the day was for you, but there's been some kind of Greshams Law of Online Dating at work since I was using ok Cupid in 2012ish, when profile text was a lot more rewarding.

had first date with now-wife in ... um... March 2011? So I'm guessing my last online date was 1-6 months before that. So 2011 / 2010. Yeah, I've heard that it turned Lowest Common Denominator shortly after I left. Sucks for all my homies. :( F
