Don't you mean lack of subtext? Just because something isn't explicitly mentioned doesn't mean someone is against it OR for it. I've read most of Asimov's stuff at some point, and don't recall anything anti-union. I may have missed it though.

Didn't read it that way, TBH. The post is interesting in that it struck me as a sort of lament: why isn't science fiction depicting the Progressive workers' utopia? If Progressivism is the end of history (it probably isn't), then why aren't these greats depicting it like that?
