1/ my back has been !@#-up & I've been in constant pain for most of a month on the one hand, this hasn't stopped me from logging, picking rocks from fields, doing engine repair, etc. ...but on the other hand, it has sucked. Sleep poorly, wake up in pain, spend the day in pain

2/ I had a break from the pain a few days ago, when some aspect of doing dumbbell rows straightened my back out. Lasted one day. Had another break just now bc of kettlebell swings and stretches. Fingers crossed it stays fixed.

3/ As much as it sucks (and it does suck - I basically wake up each day looking forward to bed, when I can not be awake / aware of the pain), it is certainly a temporary thing. I'm thinking of those poor bastards who have chronic pain that WON'T just go away in a week or two >

4/ ...and the left / right Puritan alliance of blue tribe social reformers & red tribe LEOs who ruin people's lives and subject them to, effectively, torture, by arresting them for pain meds, legislating and regulating doctors out of helping them, etc. !@# the puritan torturers

This is curiosity, not advice: are you taking any meds to attempt to relieve the pain?

i’ve seen you chew borderline dangerous quantities of aspirin. so i assume you jest, or is this a new stance?

oh, valid point I retract the previous statement aspirin has always seemed more like a nutritional supplement to me I do use aspirin with abandon but very much dislike anything else

reasonable. i will suggest you at least consider the excedrin-type combos - aspirin, acetominophen, and caffeine. they are synergistic and for me they approach the effectiveness of aspirin/opioid combos. they completely clear really bad headaches that neither alone will touch.

I gotta say, "I don't take anything for pain but I take aspirin for breakfast" was not a take I expected.

yeah, it's kinda retarded in retrospect, but the framing up thread was "damn those politicians who outlaw heavy duty narcotics for people with chronic pain", and I was quick responding in that context don't really take aspirin every day, but do take ~4 at the end of a long day

i understood the point. opioids are fine for people who have chronic pain which is truly physical in origin but potentially very very bad for everyone else and so great restraint is justified in taking them.
