2/ I had a break from the pain a few days ago, when some aspect of doing dumbbell rows straightened my back out. Lasted one day. Had another break just now bc of kettlebell swings and stretches. Fingers crossed it stays fixed.

3/ As much as it sucks (and it does suck - I basically wake up each day looking forward to bed, when I can not be awake / aware of the pain), it is certainly a temporary thing. I'm thinking of those poor bastards who have chronic pain that WON'T just go away in a week or two >

4/ ...and the left / right Puritan alliance of blue tribe social reformers & red tribe LEOs who ruin people's lives and subject them to, effectively, torture, by arresting them for pain meds, legislating and regulating doctors out of helping them, etc. !@# the puritan torturers

Inversion table. Was the only lasting relief me in similar circumstances.

What really helped my back was strengthening my abs and stretching all my leg muscles (including gluteal). Sounds counterintuitive, but really helps for me

I fucked my back up bad in the army. The last few years I've been able to start lifting weights again. I mitigate the pain by stretching + a bit of yoga (upward dog/child's pose) and rolling out my low back/ham strings with a foam roller. I'd say it cuts like 90% of the pain.
