Has anyone written a good explainer on why everyone—including me—accidentally abbreviates Work From Home as “WFM” instead of “WFH”? WFH actually looks wrong. Why?

a theory: "H" is a very weird letter. It's barely a consonant and more like a vowel. IIRC some languages don't give it a distinct letter but a mark over a vowel to indicate that the lips are rounded when pronouncing the vowel. The only strong consonant in "home" is "M".

I partially agree with this, but I think it’s actually the m in “From” that’s getting promoted to the third initial due to H’s lack of confidence. Work Fruh m’Home

I think you're not wrong the two "m"s are working together m&m theory (joking, but also 100% srs)
