3/ went to remount tire on axle. The broken bolt I got out w the welding trick was 5/16 dia 24 TPI (fine) x 3/4" I've got tons of 18 TPI on hand, but no 24 TPI masked up, visited hardware store - ZERO in stock. thinking "damn, gonna have to machine my own. F", but ...

4/ turns out that they had a few in grade 8. Got those, came home, chased the threads with a tap to clean them up, mounted wheel. Bob's your uncle. Only took a MIG welder, an oxy torch, a tire changing tool, a tap, and a trip out into the plague to change the tire!

5/ needless to say I'm appalled that I don't have an inventory of 5/16 x 24 TPI x various lengths on hand off to Monster Fastener to repair that defect

6/ So that's good. I can mow the lawn this weekend. Next up: take apart the carburetor on the pressure washer and fix it, so I can clean out some barn stalls. The infrastructure pyramid ride never ends.
