I'm not saying that I NEED to buy this. I'm just saying that it would be extremely foolish and money wasting to NOT buy this. Hnnng.pic.twitter.com/MDuzz7nMvs

3/ so while I'm on a 35 HP tractor and looking at 50 HP excavators, he owns a 200 HP wheel loader and is looking at 300 HP excavators. I'm torn. On the one hand, big is awesome. OTOH ...
4/ I might rather pay $70k up front for a small excavator than $20k for a massive goliath excavator ... and while I'm running smooth for the next 3,000 hours, he's replacing a $3,000 hydraulic cylinder and re-machining parts every third weekend.
5/ Yep! And this is part of why I'm torn. I DO enjoy fixing things ... but I get frustrated when I want to do thing X, but get 15 minutes in and realize I need to back up and fix thing Y.https://twitter.com/EricRichards22/status/1259817100874518529 …
6/ I have about 12-16 hrs/week to farm. I find it hard to get done half as much as I want to, and frustrating that everything is always half assed and years behind schedule. Not sure that adding a 300 HP 1982 vintage excavator to the farm is going to make that better.
7/ this sounds like good advice Rented a Bobcat E-45 two years ago and it had all the power I needed to build a stone wall without straining. Also have a desire to dig trenches ~ 4' deep for drainage. A 50 HP Kubota won't tear itself apart doing that https://twitter.com/HeadwaysMatter/status/1259817094381735936 …
8/ ...but I can certainly see how a 200 HP machine would do all of that, plus stump removal, with more ease. I keep going back and forth on this. Compare to, say, 135 HP 20 ton machine with 8,000 hours ... https://nh.craigslist.org/hvo/d/portsmouth-excavator/7118734497.html …
9/ you're telling me what I want to hear, therefore I label this as expert advice :P https://twitter.com/camoout/status/1259821916212400129 …
you’re going to have to fix it anyway. might as well save money AND start off fixing it. i guess. I’M JUST TRYING TO BE HELPFUL.
