the biggest black pill I've gotten over the last 2-3 years is that most people - even hyper intelligent 150+ IQ people, even very good moral people that I like and agree with on a lot of things - can't separate debates about facts from policy from morality from tribal from ...https://twitter.com/asymmetricinfo/status/1258373386960547842 …

3/ Nah. Once you realize that 99.9% of people can't think / can't operate at Kegan 3 or higher, the pill splits in half and exposes a sodium-metal core, which sears your throat like a live coal. There will be scarring. People aren't worth speaking to https://twitter.com/ThisIsMy4thAcc2/status/1258374648753872896 …

Operating at Kegan 4 and above is stressful and emotionally taxing, which is why every sustainable Kegan 4-5 civilization has retained Kegan 3 institutions (family and church/synagogue) as its foundation.

5/ I think societies are based on lower levels because they provide the rage and alliance building necessary to slaughter enemies and take their resources. 3 is the evolutionary sweet spot: laws to minimize internal feuds & wasted resource, tribal rage to kill outsiders.

The hardest part for many smart people is understanding that we live in a tribal world & only a fraction of humanity is even capable of understanding abstract principles, much less applying them consistently. Becoming tribal yourself is ultimately the smartest response.
