5/ I think societies are based on lower levels because they provide the rage and alliance building necessary to slaughter enemies and take their resources. 3 is the evolutionary sweet spot: laws to minimize internal feuds & wasted resource, tribal rage to kill outsiders.

The hardest part for many smart people is understanding that we live in a tribal world & only a fraction of humanity is even capable of understanding abstract principles, much less applying them consistently. Becoming tribal yourself is ultimately the smartest response.
