I firmly believe in price discrimination. My goal is to sell EVERYONE more or less the exact same book...at a price that is EXACTLY the most they're willing to pay, minus 1 cent. (gotta have some consumer surplus)https://twitter.com/PstafarianPrice/status/1258150223890636800 …

3/ The kickstarter for my novels had tiers: * 1st ebook for $6 * both for $12 * 1st trade PB for $25 * both for $50 * both in HC for $100 * signed limited edition of 10 HC for $250 * two sets ULTRA limited edition of 3, leather bound, for $999https://twitter.com/PstafarianPrice/status/1258150773541580801 …

4/ Plus there was also some content that was partitioned off (a short story in a separate binding). That was only available at the upper tiers. So, plan for this KS is prob exactly the same. Except maybe a few chapters (or a short cookbook?) are split off in a separate binding

5/ Also in the previous KS I let people in higher tiers name either characters or firms after themselves or friends. What's the corollary of that in non-fiction? Maybe allowing folks to ask for a custom short essay / chapter?

6/ HA! THIS IS ALREADY PLANNED! In the SF novel "Lucifer's Hammer" one character seals his entire technical library in plastic bags and puts it in the septic tank before the comet hits, so he can retrieve it later. SO >>>https://twitter.com/PstafarianPrice/status/1258151553703149569 …

7/ One tier in the kickstarter will be "Lucifer's Hammer Edition". Which is two copies - one to read, and the other, double shrink-wrapped in heavy plastic, for storage through the apocalypse. ...maybe with a multitool, pack of seeds, or small barterable silver coin inside.

8/ I will only write on topics that I know first hand - if I know it, sure! But if it's a question about some OTHER microclimate, I don't want to just transcribe misc stuff I read - that's cheating.https://twitter.com/PstafarianPrice/status/1258152055870353409 …

9/ Maybe true, but I hate podcasts, I hate talking, I hate audio, i hate visual. I hate ongoing, never ending projects. I just want to calmly, quietly organize knowledge into written form, finish it, and sell that. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ https://twitter.com/relicn0cer/status/1258153284763697152?s=19 …

I think it was Robert Lucas I heard this story about. When he got to Chicago Econ, was talking to the dean. "We're so happy you joined us!", the Dean said. "Bah", Lucas replied. "In that case, I should have demanded a higher salary."
