7/ Weigh in once a week, track that weight on a spreadsheet or something. The downward curve will be a motivator. Psychologically, redirect your thinking from "this pain sucks" to "this minor inconvenience is awesome bc it means I am achieving a goal".

8/ There is a ton written about self-motivation, visualization, etc. Can't hurt to read some of that. Keep your sacrifices small so that you can tolerate them. No one can hold onto a burning pot handle for months or years.

11/ re workouts: my belief, based on some reading, but not exhaustive study, is that the cardio of the 80s, 90s, and 00s is not productive in weight loss, but intense weight training is. A lot of guys have had good success with relatively short intense gym workouts such as >>

12/ One or two or three sets of 50 kettlebell swings. ...and nothing more. Get a 35# or 50# KB. Watch some vids for technique. Work up to it slowly. Get to 50 or 100. Work further to 50 or 100, 1 min rest, another 50 or 100.

13/ Goal of this is not to burn calories per se, but to hammer your body and tell it, at a biochemical level, "hey, we're not sitting in cave over the winter, trying to hold onto calories. It's spring, and we're chasing gazelle with an atl atl."

14/ I don't really know much on this topic though. I'm not a gym bro. Halfrunt once described me as "Just this guy, you know?" Good luck, kings!

0xWinger @0xWingerI hope plenty of people listen to this. It's not only "not productive in weight loss" it's also a pacifier to keep people from doing anything difficult. SPRINT the 400-meter dash regularly! Speed, coordination, power, endurance, strength, it's got it all. https://twitter.com/MorlockP/status/1255115440306696193 …1 reply 0 retweets 5 likesShow this thread -

16/ my belief (both from reading and personal experience) is that, yes, keto diet and exercise really do have major effects on biochemistry / hormones that make weight loss much much easier.https://twitter.com/CensoredJeff/status/1255124385951817728 …

17/ yep, lotta good things in this space ; I've had success w burpees, w alternating punching the heavy bag and body squats, etc etc etc 80/20 rule tho: decent diet and some exercise is the 80 ; dial in the remaining 20 laterhttps://twitter.com/TheSimonEvans/status/1255126549193515008 …

ⓘ Dogs don't have thumbs added,
☉rthonormalist @orthonormalistIn terms of the approach that's worked for me (I am not an 'intuitive eater'): The first, biggest, and sometimes -only- step to diet control is measuring what you eat, and only eating what you measure. If you can't measure, then err slightly on the side of caution.Show this thread0 replies 0 retweets 4 likesShow this threadThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
