110/ There are tons of details in Aristillus. I'm not a minimalist. I cut out about 2/3 of the details I wanted to have, and what I left in was probably 10x what I should have had. ...but I'll say this. What's there is MOSTLY motivated by plot or character.

121/ Chapter 3, mountain climbing on the moon - you've seen Apollo photos. You've seen rock climbing. You've seen bulky space suit gloves. You can supply the dust being knocked off of the stone finger holds, the chalky gray / white rocks, the dark clefts. I don't need to.

121/ So flip back to Bad Author's writing. We have no idea what the action actually looked like ... but we know the color of - his pistol - his armor - the gaps between the plates - his loincloth - his cape - the gilding on his armor - the gunbelt - the cross - the chitin

121/ ok, pop quiz: was the cross red, the gunbelt brown, the power armor gun metal gray, and the loincloth maroon, or was the armor gray, the belt red, the cross maroon, and the cross brown? answer: it doesn't matter, not at all, and so every word of description was wasted
