/ This pasture was long neglected before we got here. Unfenced, invaded by trees, noticeable amounts of knotweed, literal garbage in places. I took care of all that, now need to improve the forage - which, right now, has a lot of weeds the sheep won't eat. Problem is that >>

/ the overall AVERAGE terrain isn't too bad - it's all on a slope and drops maybe 10 or 20 feet from west side to east side ... BUT ... the terrain is hilly / uneven, so often it's flat / steep slop / flat. Tractors do poorly on steep slopes. Poorly = roll over, kill driver.

/ ...so... 3 or 4 days of bulldozer work (at about $1k/day) to smooth it all out, and then another day or two of me work to get it planted. If it works, it's gonna be great.

/ nope, actively don't want to terrace - the slope is acceptable, if it's smooth. The problem comes from the opposite - in some places it is DE FACTO terraced!https://twitter.com/MyIdiotDawg/status/1249763966559158273 …

/ however, pasture is fairly terraced compared to the wooded area to east of it (which I tentatively call "hog forest", bc I've got plans to fence it in some day and run hogs under the oak trees there so that they can enjoy acorns) hog forest is ~ 15' lower than road pasture
