From the outset, the CDC should have been warning the HHS Secretary, the President, and Congress, that an unprecedented testing capacity would be essential to stopping the disease, and to warn them that this could not be accomplished given current FDA policies and practices.

The main enemy in this pandemic has been and continues to be the FDA. They are literally responsible for an orders-of-magnitude increase in the death toll.

The CDC is not responsible for the FDA's policies. But the CDC is responsible for failing to warn everyone that the FDA's policies are going to kill us. The CDC's mission is to control disease. They have failed their mission - have failed us - by letting the FDA fail us.

I haven't seen that, but I do know school responses are varying by area. Here in Georgia schools are definitely closed for two weeks, and I expect as we proceed they'll get shut down for longer.
