2/ 14.1% of hospitals are public ; re the other 85.9%, a question: do they charge too much (as you've said in the past), or are they underfunded? You understand that you can choose only one ?https://twitter.com/davidmanheim/status/1238929416169947136 …

It's a scathing indictment of how underfunded our hospitals are, and how poorly managed our public health system is, sure. That doesn't excuse people from responsibility for their actions.
-
Our hospitals are nothing like underfunded. What they are is hugely mismanaged.

Seriously. This is some of the most ridiculous shit ever, simultaneously claiming people are stupid for thinking they are useful, then that healthcare workers need them more, then that "we can be arsed to stockpile supplies which will obviously be needed and this is your fault"

Saw a video recorded January 23 on January 25—case numbers had already doubled in Wuhan in those two days. Bought surgical gloves and N99 that night. I have brain damage from a TBI,

I'd would take this one step up the chain. We have a federal agency specifically for handling epidemic spread. Which didn't have a strategic reserve of the cheapest and most effective front-line tech that literally every epidemic needs. So why even CDC?
-
This is a good point. But FEMA does have stockpile of things like masks but it doesn’t seem prudent to strip them.
