Confusion seems to be that while government certainly *can* take good, strong measures to contain it (see China, Singapore) sometimes it doesn't and, indeedz acts as impediment. Incentives! Plus I bet the vaccine comes from a private company!

Maybe not wrong to believe in capacity of government, but wrong to trust competence and wrong to dismiss capacity of markets.
