seems like people rent Zipcar vans but use real movers most often, not so many "friends with a truck" and you're often gonna have stairs on one or both ends of the move. I have movers I've used 3x, found them on a bidding site, surprisingly not expensive http://citymove.com/

not so many u-haul places like in suburbs and the time I had one it was not so cheap, also very hard to drive and park whereas movers are totally cool with it

right, that's what I was wondering about throwing cash at this problem seems like 400% the win - was just curious bc of phrasing "I'm going to end up carting all of this"

sounds like a great solution Given that I was running a comic book estore, I saved hundreds of very very heavy duty incoming boxes from our vendor. We also purchased a ton of Lowes folding cardboard boxes, and some Rubbermaid blue bins. Still have most of them, and >>

use them for all sorts of things - blue bins get used in workshop and barn, Lowes boxes used to mail sheared sheep wool to processors, comics boxes used for sorting and storage in basement prepper shelves

disappointed the rubbermaid bins aren't used for chopped-up farmhand parts

I do, in fact, use one of the larger ones when I'm slaughtering an animal. After animal is dead I lift it w tractor, push a blue bin under the head, then slit the centerline and pull the guts out, letting them fall into the blue bin. later I use tractor to carry it -> compost
