16/ ...largely to quiet the itch (inner neurotic screaming), and to head off the potential of regret. It's half a real move, half a symbolic move. I only started saving for retirement after I paid off the farm 1.5 years ago, so not much in there (thus symbolism).

There's a 30-60 day lag between China stopping shipping and shelves being out of a thing though, because of the boat time most stuff is planned ahead. Manufacturing uses a third party logistics place who actually receives the widgets from China.

I worked in transportation planning for a Fortune 50 manufacturer: officially all our US plants had only US suppliers, but many of those were logistics firms that sold parts actually made in China or Mexico.
