I think that thread is *most* interesting because it shows so much how economics is like water: if there is any opening to make money, any two-party system of give and take, it will find its way around rules and regulations.

On the one hand, that leasing system seems exploitative. On the other hand, they get to use a car and the chance to make some money, which is something they wouldn't have had 5 years ago.
