2/ these dovetail together: * the inevitable trend of life is that more and more people get better and better health care * we need to be part of this process / solve the problem * let's use a survey to find out how much health care people have!

3/ I'm sympathetic to "let's measure things and then make them better!" I mean, that's basically an engineer's job description ... and an autist's life description.

4/ so I don't want to say "no, these are always wrong / impossible". ...but measuring things is a lot harder than one naively thinks at first. For all sorts of reasons, some of them methodological, some of them statistical, some of them epistemological. Deserves a long rant >
