/ Went out yesterday and scouted for what trees I'm dropping this coming weekend. Found some good ones inside the rock wall line that look like they'll have a very good ROI on work-vs-cords. So, that's this weekend & next week's firewood. Weekend after THAT is butchering cow

/ So 29 Feb & 1 Mar I'm butchering, and week of 2-6 March I'll be burning old wood - which is good, bc I want to empty the firewood area out before this summer when I rent an excavator and put in concrete piers for a roof over [ future ] firewood.

/ So, anyway, that's the next 3-4 weeks and weekends: logging, butchering, butchering, back to logging. Once the workshop is clear of cow carcass I need to get back to building bookshelves [ for the third floor bedroom ].

/ The traditional "weekends in Jan - March are a vacation" isn't playing out that way this year. Sigh. Lotta work, lotta work. When I moved to the farm I had a 5 year plan for improvements. Six years in, and the plan now stretches out 9-10 years.

/ I bitch and moan about the work, but at some level I WANT to work. Feels good to get outside, stretch the legs, build farm muscles, do the male equivalent of e-thot twitter posting pix. Also, !@# farm hands.https://twitter.com/Bobthewelding1/status/1230488333974896640 …

/ Fired my last one in July, I think. I'd rather do the work myself, and stretch it out over the years, than deal with incompetence and sloth.https://twitter.com/bc_nbc/status/1230491102643249154 …

Took a few hours today, dropped 4 trees, limbed, crosscut, dragged brush into treeline, hauled logs to house furnace.
